We, the French organizations signatories of this appeal, invite the organizations of the Alter Summit, in particular the trade unions, of the countries bordering France, to join the demonstrations planned throughout the country on March 7.

Demonstrations and trade union actions are planned throughout France and therefore in French border cities of : Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy or Spain.

After several days of strikes and demonstrations on January 19, January 31, February 7 and 11, and February 16, 2023, which saw the participation of millions of people across the country, the government and the right-wing parliamentary majority remain deaf to the popular protest.

Thus, the eight French trade union organizations CFDT, CGT, CFE-CGC, CFTC, FO, FSU, SOLIDAIRES and UNSA have called on workers, young people and pensioners to a 6th interprofessional day of strike and to harden the movement to bring the whole of France to a standstill on March 7 and to seize March 8, the international day of struggles for women’s rights, to highlight the major social injustice of this reform towards women.

If the mobilizations concern the French pension reform they are important for the rest of Europe. Stopping President Macron will represent an example and an encouragement for workers in many other countries in their battles against neo-liberalism.
